Ephesians 6:12-13
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.”
Between now and the beginning of the Advent program, we strongly encourage you to raise up prayer support from your family and friends. Each one of us will be fighting a spiritual battle this summer against the spiritual forces arrayed against God and his people in Taiwan, and without spiritual weapons, we are helpless. Therefore, make a concise list of prayer requests for yourself (sample list provided below). Talk to people you know and try to encourage at least twelve or so people to commit to supporting you in prayer starting from now until you get back from the trip. Give each one of them a copy of your prayer request list, and write down their names and commitments below so you can update them on how your trip went when you get back and on how God answered prayers during the trip.

Sample prayer request list:
– Please pray that I will be able to have and maintain an attitude of servanthood towards my team and my students
– Please pray for that each team of Advent teachers will be marked by uncommon unity, humility, and love for each other
– Please pray that I will be able to clothe myself with love and humility towards my team and my students
– Please pray that I will be able to cope with the new environment and schedule (e.g. food, weather, tiredness)
– Please pray for God’s protection for me, that with the armor of God I put on everyday, I will be able to resist the attacks of the evil one and stand strong in the face of temptations
– Please pray for the hearts of the students, that they will be ready and willing to receive Jesus Christ into their hearts
– Please pray for our team, that we will be bold and courageous in sharing our personal testimony, the Gospel, and the Gospel invitation with our students.
